About Sam

Sam Shallard is the founder of Serendipity Blue.

He was raised on a ranch in rural New Zealand where life was shaped by open landscapes, practical work and long days outdoors. After university and a short period in corporate marketing, he moved to the South of France and found work as a deckhand on a private superyacht. Eight years later, with a marine engineering qualification and extensive experience supporting guests at the highest level, he returned home and found his footing in superyacht management.

It was there that he discovered his calling for designing bespoke itineraries for clients who had travelled the world and wanted to understand what made New Zealand exceptional. Serendipity Blue was built directly from that standard of service.

Sam remains personally involved with every journey. He is your single point of contact, overseeing planning and logistics and staying fully accessible throughout your time in the country. He is supported by a trusted team of chefs, hostesses, specialist guides and chauffeurs who share his values and attention to detail.

When he is not managing an itinerary, you will find him exploring the backcountry with his dog Indie.
